NC State Fair ..yikes!!!

So we made our inaugural trip to the NC State fair, not quite sure what to expect. While Kristi had assured me that she was used to this type of thing from back home, I don't think she really knew what we were getting into. It was a scary site....

Here we are at the entrance...still looking pretty normal...


Here's where it got a little creepy...the world's smallest woman at 29 inches tall. When I smiled and waved to her she gave me the biggest scowl you can imagine, I guess she has a tiny little heart too.


She was so scary we had to cover up Syd's eyes with her hat. After that we decided to avoid the Sampson sized horse, five legged goat, two headed pig and world's largest alligator...who would have thought these fairs still have these types of side shows.


Apparently, at the fair, you can get fried '_____'. You fill in the blank...there were fried twinkies, cheeseburgers, snickers, cheesecake, reeses, dough, etc. You name it, they fry it.

We ended up going with the fried oreos. I have to say....not too shabby.


It was getting close to dark and we were a little frightened by what may come out on a Friday night, so we chose to make our way back home. Good move.
