We made it up to Ted Blake's wedding in Boston (nowhere close to South Boston for those keeping track at home). The Crane Estate at Castle Hill was an awesome place for a wedding.
While the girls had fun...
The boys did their thing...singing the sweetheart song...
Fred and Syd have taken lots of exploratory walks on the beach. Sydney has recently become fascinated with animals and loves chasing the seagulls down the beach.
With Komo back at work, Syd and I decided to head to the beach for awhile. We will try to channel some of our relaxation up to Dad while he is up working til midnight every night!!
Here is Syd reading her favorite book straight from the infomercial. She has been able to clap her hands while looking at the pictures on the page or hearing us ask her to clap. Maybe it's working...
Here is Syd playing with Kristi's computer, which not surprisingly after an hour of banging is no longer working. But watch as we ask Syd to put her arms up. She loves to play this game now, and it's even funnier when she does it while walking around the room.
Since its been so hot down south (100 degrees!!) we have been playing in our backyard water "park". Sydney isn't really all that interested in it though.. she more enjoys walking around the yard and picking up leaves (and eating them).
Syd went to visit Great-Aunt Robin and Great-Uncle Tom at Lake Gaston last weekend. She loves riding the boat and having the wind blow in her hair. She had a great time floating around and seemed to be much more tolerant of her life jacket than her last boating experience!
This is one of Syd's favorite books to read and it's how she learned to stick out her tongue. Watch her point to the picture of the tongue and then stick out her own!
Sydney has been taking classes at the Little Gym. She has so much energy and loves running all through the gym, climbing the beam, and swinging on the bars. It's hard to keep her focused on group activities, but she has a good time anyway
Sydney attended Noel's bridal shower and engagement party last weekend. She was very well-behaved and fooled everyone into thinking she would behave perfectly on Noel's big day when she walks down the aisle performing her flower girl duties.
Sydney has recently become very interested in "reading" books. She flips through them and points to all the pictures, while talking aloud to herself. She also has learned to bark like a dog (she says "ruff ruff") whenever she sees pictures of dogs or sees them outside.
Sydney is a great eater and rarely rejects any foods; however, she is not a fan of butter beans (lima beans for you Yankees). Instead of making faces or spitting them out, she simply lets the pieces fall out of her mouth onto her shirt. We figured this was her laid-back way of expressing her distaste.
