Happy Birthday (Rnd 2)

We went to the triplet's birthday party at the Barn for the Pirate themed adventure. Kim had her teacher hat back on, as she made all sorts of pirate games for the kids to play. While Syd wasn't into following the rules (shocker...), she had a great time playing with her cousins and the other kids.

Zoo Excursion

We had a great morning to head down to the zoo. Syd loved all the animals, and couldn't stop talking about the mommy monkey that was carrying the baby on her back up the tree.

One Month

One Month Old!

Can't believe he's already a month... Here are a few quick facts about Baby Declan

HE SLEEPS!! Unlike Sydney, who NEVER slept the first few months of her life, Declan is a fairly decent sleeper. Although he rarely sleeps longer than 2.5 hours, which can make the nights a little tiring, he does sleep fairly consistently throughout the day and night. He is not yet a fan of sleeping in his crib, so we currently have him sleeping in his swing. Sydney was unwilling to sleep anywhere except in our arms, so right now the swing is sounding pretty good to us!

Declan so far seems to be a fairly laid back little guy. Sydney was very hyper (and remains so still) and was constantly awake, darting her eyes around, kicking her legs furiously, etc. Declan is much quieter, and seems to enjoy observing others and just relaxing in his boppy or swing.

One trait he does share with Sydney is his love of eating, as well as an unfortunate case of lactose intolerance. Like Syd, Mom cannot eat any dairy as Declan seems to have trouble digesting it and gets upset. With Sydney we didn't figure this out until she was about 4 months old (which explained the first few months of crying fits and never sleeping), so we are glad we know this early on; however, Mom is very depressed that she can't eat ANYTHING that tastes good..

Sydney continues to enjoy being a big sister and is very sweet and tender with Baby Declan. However, when he cries a lot or takes too much of Mom's time, she often asks if we can take him back to the "hotipal" =)
