Syd absolutely LOVES all her "peoples" as she refers to them. She now has quite a collection including all the Disney princesses, the Mickey Mouse crew, and Sesame Street friends. She carries them in her purple purse everywhere and loves lining them up in rows all over the house (hmmm wonder which parent she inherited those scary (and slightly obsessive) organizational skills from....)
Since Mom and Dad continue to drift up and down the East Coast, Syd will be able to celebrate her upcoming 2nd birthday with all sides of her family. First stop was while we were up in PA. We had a pool party with her grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and 3 cousins. Mom made an Elmo cake this year that Syd was very excited about. Thanks to everyone for some great Disney and Sesame Street presents for Syd -- she can't stop playing with them already!
We made it down to St. Charles Place in OC for the first time with Sydney. She loved playing on the life guard stand before the beach got crowded. More pics to come!
Last stop on our first summer adventure was SoBo! Uncle Mark wanted to teach Syd the importance of watering your 'maters daily in order to get big, fat, juicy ones to go in mater sandwiches..
Syd paid her first visit to Buggs Island Lake in VA. She has been boating several times but this was her first time on Mom's hometown lake where she went every weekend as a child. Syd loved swimming in the water and jumping off the boat... and driving of course..
Syd absolutely loves swimming. She goes off the diving board, swims underwater, and uses her water wings to swim on her own, all before the age of 2! We are hoping by next summer she will be swimming completely on her own without any assistance. We're shooting for a swimming scholarship to UVA!! We'll keep our fingers crossed!!
The Cicconi's had a beautiful oceanfront pool equipped with waterfalls! Not to mention all the Dads got to jam to the sound system and have a few beers while the kids swam!
