8 Week Doctor Visit

Sydney did great at her 8 week (really 9 week) doctor visit.

She officially weighs:
12lb and 10 oz

and measures:
23 inches long


She also got her first round of shots (5 of them in this round). While she didn't like them going in, she did a heck of job. No screaming after about a minute and ended up with no fever. What a little trooper.

Grandmother Visits!!!

Grandmother K spent the last week down in Durham with us. We had a great time from when she arrived on Sunday afternoon to Thursday night!! She got to spend some QT with Syd and Kristi during the week.

She was able to watch Syd as Kristi and I ran out to Nana's for dinner.


She was able to go out to lunch with Kristi's parents to the Nasher Art Museum and walk through the Duke Gardens.

She got to do some shopping with the girls.

But most of all..she just wanted to stay home and snuggle with Syd!!!


Grandmother definitely had the magic touch to get Sydney to sleep when she was rocking her, so we're going to need to get her back down here again soon! Thanks for all the help!!

My first trip to C-Ville

You can't really see me, but mommy has me hidden from the sun at my first UVA game in Charlottesville - UVA vs Miami.


I may not have been in orange...but I sure had a good time laying back and watching the game.

Aunt Meredith took a break from her swim practices to come see me.

Not quite ready for the jogging stroller

Looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer before we can break this jogging stroller out. As you can see, Kristi was really itching to get out there and did her best to make Syd fit with all the extra padding...but somehow that just doesn't seem like it will work.

The second half of our trip was at Blowing Rock. We drove through town as well which looked cute, but didn't end up staying.

Top of Grandfather Mountain

Here we are at the top of Grandfather Mountain, the highest point off the blue ridge parkway, with a clear view for miles in every direction.


It was windy and cold at the top and had to resort to the bjorn wrap to keep Syd all snug.
