Dance Observation Round 2

Sydney had her 2nd parent observation day at dance. BIG improvement since the October viewing. We still have some work to do but at least she is actually dancing this time. =)

Although we aren't complaining, we've had virtually no winter to speak of here so we have spent many a Saturday at different parks. Declan recently had his first swing ride and Sydney is getting more daring everyday.

Sydney LOVED this door as a baby. Looks like it hasn't lost its luster just yet! Declan loves to play with it (and Sydney still does too, calling it her "bongo tree"). No idea what that means...

Looks like all that exercising is paying off...

One of Syd's favorite things to do is pick Declan up and drag him around.... Amazingly, Declan also finds this to be ridiculously fun and doesn't mind being carried. More of these to come....

Walk like a man!!

Working hard!

Her love of exercise makes Mommy so proud! Working up a sweat with Dad, doing her "training" (which consists of running laps up and down the hall, with jumping jacks in between, in order to burn some of that never-ending energy! Love her taste in workout shoes too!

Syd's favorite game now has a new player. Declan can officially "chase" Sydney (Dad is so relieved to get a break from multiple laps around the house).

First Steps!

Declan took his first solo steps earlier this week at 9.5 months old! He is right on track with Sydney, who walked at exactly 10 months. We'll see how much progress he makes the next few weeks. He is very eager to chase Sydney..

9 month stats

9 month appointment in early January

Weight: 20 lbs (40th percentile)
Height: 26.8 inches (8th percentile)

Hmmmmm.....

Not much height improvement. Maybe he will be a gymnast =) Dad believes that if we feed him, he will grow and is staying positive that Dex will have a growth spurt soon! But we are guessing he will not be playing hoops for the Duke Blue Devils.

Declan continues to be the happiest, smiliest baby around. He loves walking around the house holding onto furniture and loves playing with his sister. Sydney is happy to report that Declan is now able to play in her tent with her and likes playing "crash the tent" with her. This consists of throwing a giant ball (known as a firebomb) at the princess tent to make it collapse. Sadly, the firebomb often ends up knocking Declan over. (Guess who introduced Sydney to this game.. way to go Dad). Regardless those two have become best buds and love "playing" together. Declan has become quite a tough cookie as a result of their games (which usually involve him being dragged across the floor in some fashion).

Calling Baton Rouge!!

We flew down to Baton Rouge for our goddaughter Hattie's baptism. We are so excited to be her godparents and Sydney was excited to have a new god-sister. Both kids did awesome on the flights to and from (had to pit-stop in Atlanta since there are no direct flights). We were somewhat worried how the trip with two would go but everyone was a trooper so looks like we have the green light to get back on our travel schedule! Which is a good thing since we have weddings all over the country this summer....
