New digs

We've moved!!!!......AGAIN....swear this is it for at least the rest of this decade. We are officially Chapel Hill, NC residents.. We are really traitors now. Komo went to Duke and we live in Chapel Hill.. GASP! I know our Wahoo friends are hanging their heads in disappointment. ;)

Come visit! We are in a great location to go to UNC or Duke games...when we are playing UVA of course!

Cats and Cheese.....and a 3-year-old

These videos are hilarious....

A little background so you can understand what she's talking about (if that's possible). Sydney has 2 white cats that she loves. We are on cats #5 and 6 at this point. She likes them to be soft and calls them "soft cat." When they are no longer soft (from washing them), she requests new ones... Nice....

So she spilled something on one of the cats one day (I don't specifically remember it being cheese, but sounds like that's what it was) and I told her that if she kept getting them dirty, I would have to wash them and they wouldn't be soft anymore. This seems to be the gist of this conversation... however, she seemed to be stuck on that whole cat-cheese issue for most of the night.

Asheboro Zoo!

We went to the Asheboro Zoo for Sydney's birthday! She had a great time despite the 90 degree NC heat. She even hung in for a trip to Furnitureland South and drive past Mom's house she was born in!

Wow how she's grown! A few fun facts about Syd....

-She loves treats and sweets (hmm wonder where she got that from) and will never turn down a trip for ice cream or Ritas!!!
-Sydney swims on her own! She loves swimming and is not afraid to attempt to make it across the pool unassisted.
-She loves the beach, park, playing chase (with Daddy), and anything that involves burning physical energy. She is a ridiculously fast runner and continues to have boundless amounts of energy. We are still figuring out how to channel it.
-She still loves her "people" or "friends". She plays endlessly with her little figures and has become quite creative.
-She hates going to bed. After being put in bed, Sydney often stays up for an hour or more playing in her room. We hear her reading, singing, playing with Barbies, pulling all her clothes out of her drawers, and "vacuuming"... At times, I find her asleep in her bed with every single toy she owns in the bed with her. She loves putting her "friends" to sleep.
-No more naps
-Very grouchy girl in the morning, she got that from Dad.
-Still worships Daddy and everything about him. She counts the days until he comes home and talks about him incessantly.
-Loves her baby brother and has fun reading to him, "hugging" him, and tickling him. She has been a great big sister.

-This year Sydney will be going to preschool, taking dance (yes, there will be a spring recital!), playing soccer, and keeping up with her swimming. Her preschool offers Spanish and Mandarin (yikes) so we will also be working on those new skills.

Kenley!!!!!!

Our buddy Kenley came to visit us for a week. Sydney was in heaven and has not stopped talking about her. Putting Kenley on her plane home was a sad sad day for Sydney..... we can't wait for next summer when she comes back!
